Today is our last day in florida we will do the same ole things: walk, lay out, swim and read a book but then we'll pack for the trip home by way of some casinos for Bonnie. We are stopping first in Columbus, Ga. Then on to Shelbyville, In. and then home on Saturday.

3/25/2012

We got all the pictures, but they were sideways. This is the first day since we got here that we weren't able to go for a morning walk because of a thunderstorm. It has just about blown over so we can go out later. At this point it looks like we should have good weather coming home on Thur & Fri. It looks like we may have rain when we get to Michigan on Sat. We will be stopping at Gun Lake around noon so I'm not sure what time we will be getting home.
See you soon,

To Amaya, Jake, and Ryan

Just a few more days and grandma & grandpa will be heading home. Our time here has been very rest full, the sun is out every day only a few clouds to mar the sky. The temperature is the same everyday. We take several walk a days, go to the pool, lay out in the sun then head to beach to play a game of scrabble, that grandma does not like to lose at. Then it's time to go in rest up and sleep till the next day to do it all over again.

We look forward to getting home to see if you all look the same or if in this time you have grown a foot, we hope not.
See you soon

Well, finally we saw some dolphins on our morning walk to Carlos bridge. There was a total of five. Jim got a few pictures & we are sending one. We also saw an osprey feeding her young & a large starfish. This year there aren't very many starfish at the bridge as there was last time we were here. Every time we come there is always something different. This time there are no sea urchins but instead a lot of those big brown shells that look like fans. There are tons of those. When we first go here we saw lots of little starfish that look like little octopuses. Every where we looked we saw them but now we haven't seen any.
Jennifer, we are sending a picture to show you how much bigger the beach is in front of Carlos Point. Remember, that is where we stayed with you and your family?

We know you have been having great weather back home but you still can't beat stepping out of the complex and walking the gulf beach. We are in such a good location. It is only a short walk to the gulf & a short walk to Santini's Plaza. There is a great fruit & vegetable stand that is opened every day.

Jim will be watching some basketball this evening. We are both getting a little anxious to be going home. Being away for 6 weeks maybe too long at one time. we are thinking we may head back a day or two before the end of the month. We'll see!

That's it for now,

Bonnie

Mar. 18 2012

Thanks for letting us know about the mouse.  We didn't realize we had left the trap set.  We have been having trouble with them lately & Jim can't seem to figure out where they are coming in so he can't plug up the holes.  I'm glad you are still checking on the house.

We haven't been doing anything different than the last week.  We did go to the casino (lost $30) and Corkscrew Sanctuary.  That's where Jim took the pictures.

Jim is watching the college basketball games when we are in the condo.

Mar 4, 2012

Well, the bad weather finally caught up with us!  This morning the wind was just a howling.  Of course, Jim went out early to take a look around and came back soaked to the skin.  It started to rain after he got about 2 condos away from ours.  This will be blowing over soon & the rest of the week looks sunny & warm.

Lesley,  Jim has finished the 2nd Hunger Games book.

If any of you need to call us our number is 239-765-8403.

Jim & Sheri,  it looks like there have been some big changes on the shore line from what Jim could tell.  When we get a chance for a better look we will let you know.

By the way,  we bought gas for $3.64 & $3.75 yesterday.  The going rate here though is $3.85.  We shouldn't have to fill up until we leave.  Don't use the car much when we are here.  That's the way I like it.  I'm not a very good traveler.

Till next time,

Bonnie

Sat March 3, 2012

It's been a l-o-n-g day!  We started at 6:30 am, lost an hour and got to our condo at 7:30 pm.  We managed to avoid all the bad weather that spawned all the tornadoes and had very good weather for traveling.  We took a scenic route until we got to St Petersburg then we finished on I-75.  We were disappointed at Destin.  I don't know if it's typical for this time of year, but we had fog every day that didn't lift until the afternoon & then it was cloudy.  Here at Ft Myers it is in the 80's and sunny.  Both Jim & I were sick with colds & congestion while in Destin, but we have recovered.

Will keep you posted on our activities.

Feb 27

Jim just got an E-mail from work that his cell phone number is being given to a new employee so he won't be answering it anymore.  Randy didn't think Jim was using it enough for work.  So if a woman answers (if you call by mistake) you'll know why.

Destin is still pretty cold and cloudy with not much change for the next few days except maybe some T-storms.  Looking forward to Ft Myers.

It's been a few days but we didn't have free Internet service at the casino & I was too tired last night.  We are in Destin, FL for the next week.  If you want to call us our number is 850-837-8866 ext 406.  It is quite a big complex & our unit is very nice.

We took a lot of pictures of Graceland & I'm going to try and put them on Facebook (not tonight).  It was very interesting and we were glad we went.

Jim got sick the 2nd day of our trip.  It's a cold or sinus & he lost his voice for awhile.  The smoke at the casinos really played havoc and made him worse.  We couldn't even eat at any of the casinos because of the smoke.  He lasted thru about half of the nine casinos & I visited the rest on my own.  They are very big & nice and I enjoyed myself immensely.  Unfortunately, I didn't win.

I'll keep in touch,

Bonnie
